Your Questions Answered
How soon can you get started?
That all depends on our current workload and what’s booked in already. We recommend planning a few months ahead, this means we can go the extra creative mile and take advantage of lower print production rates.
If you’re on a short timeline, but have all the assets needed (content, images, logos, etc.) and have a budget to get it expedited quickly, it might be possible. Contact us to find out.
Our business is based outside Phuket, is that a problem?
No, not at all. Our print partners deliver throughout Thailand and we also have several trusted print partners around the globe. The artwork we produce is industry standard and our design process helps us deliver the highest quality of work for you, on time and on budget.
Why should we chose to work with Hue Marketing?
Big agencies are interested in winning awards, and freelance designers need to focus on quantity over quality. As marketers, we understand that every piece of marketing material has a job to do. It needs to pay for itself several times over to be successful. That’s why our design process centers around your goals for the project, and we’ll use all our experience and knowledge to help deliver the results you want. Because then you’ll come back for more.
What industries do you work with?
Our background is in FMCG, high-street and department store chains, retail parks, home shopping and e-commerce, online travel agencies, and property development.
With over 25 years of first-hand experience, we’ve run thousands of press ads, and several years’ worth of tv and radio spots. Designed and optimised thousands of web pages and almost as many flyers, brochures, leaflets, mailers and promotional gear. Our focus on customer-centric communication builds & strengthens your sales funnel creating marketing systems and processes you can count on.
Do you work with B2B or B2C businesses?
We cater to B2B and B2C clients. At one time there was a significant difference between the two. Now not so much, main point of difference is with B2C you communicate directly with a decision maker. Where B2B there’s a good chance that you’re providing information for an employee to present on your behalf. Process and timelines change slightly but identifying what your customers need and how you solve their problems better than your competition doesn’t change.
Do I own the artwork at the end of the project?
Yes, once the job is completed we’ll send copies of the final print artwork so you can make additional print runs when needed.
For branding and logo projects you also get copies of the working files. These are different from print-ready files as they are fully editable. Once you own your logo design if you want to change or adapt it in the future you’ll be able to do so.
How much does it cost?
That’s really up to you. Budgets are based on your expected profitable returns, so you’re really looking for the best value from your investment. To do this effectively we need a few parameters that define your project.
These are the essentials we need to knock any project out of the park. Without a budget to work to, we risk presenting a solution that’s more expensive than you can/want to invest or isn’t in balance with your expected returns.
If you’re not sure how to calculate a suitable budget for your project give our Budget Calculator a try.
What about print Costs?
Print costs will vary depending on your project specifications and quantity.
Size (flat size & finished size), Material, Finish, Folds, Custs, Glue, Stitching, Staples, and Quantity all impact your print budget.
Print Run (Quantity) will also dictate how your project is printed (digital print, offset printing). Typically digital print is ideal for smaller quantities and faster production times, but they also have limitations to finishes and materials that are only available to offset printing.
The higher your print quantity the lower your cost per unit is. That’s because it takes the same amount of time to set up a print job for 1 copy as it does to print 100,000 copies.
What is included in a design budget?
It’s good practice to assign a separate design and print budget. If your project also needs to be sent out to clients then you’ll also want to budget for distribution.
These three combined will make up the bulk of your project costs. Based on your average or projected conversion rates your project needs to be profitable on paper before you start.
You might think that the design comes first, but it’s more expensive to redesign a project to meet cheaper print specs because you started with a cool design that’s too expensive to produce.
Can you set a budget for me?
No, but we can help you work it out.
Your budget should be based on the impact it will have. It’s specific to your business, goals, profit margins, and conversion rates.
For example, a brochure budget for a company selling paper hats and a company selling luxury yachts shouldn’t be the same. That would be crazy. You’d either underinvest and fail to meet your goals or overinvest and your design project takes years to become profitable if ever.
Calculate your budget
Base your budget on giving you the best chance to achieve your goals while remaining profitable.
How to reduce design costs?
The most cost-effective process is always to see what is possible within your budget, based on your project requirements and goals.
So to reduce costs:
Having these at the start of a project will greatly increase our ability to deliver a successful design project, efficiently and therefore reduce your costs.
How does timing affect the creative process in graphic design?
Timing plays a crucial role in the creative process of graphic design. When we have ample time to work on a project, it allows us to brainstorm, experiment, and refine ideas to produce the best possible design solutions. Adequate time enhances creativity and ensures that your marketing materials are well-crafted and effective.
Can you accommodate last-minute design requests?
While we strive to meet our client’s deadlines whenever possible, accommodating last-minute projects may not always be feasible due to our current work schedules. We encourage clients to plan their design projects in advance to ensure that we can allocate the necessary time and resources for optimal results.
Do you charge extra for last-minute projects?
Yes, we do charge a premium rate for last-minute projects that require expedited turnaround times. This is because these projects often require us to rearrange schedules and work extended hours to meet tight deadlines.
What are the benefits of planning design projects in advance?
Planning design projects in advance offers several benefits. It allows for a more thoughtful and strategic approach to design, resulting in higher-quality marketing materials.
Additionally, advanced planning ensures we have the necessary time and resources to dedicate to your project, ultimately improving the creative process.
Do you offer consultation services for project planning and implementation?
Yes, we offer consultation services to help businesses plan the production and implementation of their marketing materials. Providing guidance on project timelines, content development, and design strategies to ensure your marketing efforts are well-structured and effective.
What is the "good, cheap, or fast" principle in design?
The “good, cheap, or fast” principle is a common concept in design. It suggests that when it comes to design projects, clients can prioritize two out of the three factors:
For example, if you need a high-quality design quickly, it may come at a higher cost. Understanding this principle helps clients make informed decisions about their design priorities.
How does prioritizing quality benefit my brand and products?
Prioritizing quality in your marketing collateral reflects positively on your brand and products. High-quality design communicates professionalism, attention to detail, and a commitment to excellence.
Customers are more likely to appreciate and trust the quality and feel of well-designed marketing materials, which can lead to increased brand loyalty and sales.
