Hi, I’m Steve Jones, founder of Hue Marketing.
With over 25 years in marketing, I’m as comfortable with MS Excel as I am with Photoshop, Illustrator or WordPress. I’m naturally a planner, I like to carefully plan research and analyse.
There’s risk involved in any decision but I always believe it can be minimised with a bit of know-how.
Marketing is essentially a numbers game where you spend X to make N.
As long as N covers the costs of X as well as other costs of doing business you’ll be in good shape. A healthy return of investment of around 1:5 so for every 1,000 THB you spend you’re wanting to get 5000 THB back. Unfortunately everything else after that gets a little more complicated.
I bring the same traits to my consulting. Which is why I ask so many questions.
My first 10 years in marketing, (before digital was even a thing) we had immovable print-deadlines and only one chance to get it right. The importance of managing multiple projects week in and week out came down to having the right processes in place.
What they say is true “old habits die hard” so even now, it’s a point of pride to get it right first time – every time.
I wouldn’t say that I’m risk averse, after all I did relocated half way round the world, leaving the security of a career and lifetime network of friends. ’m more of a planner than a risk taker, I like to carefully plan, research and analyse.
