Sole Mio Boutique Hotel & Wellness Phuket Website Redesign
Website Strategy, Design & Development
Project Overview
Sole Mio is a boutique hotel and wellness destination offering both accommodation and on-site clinical services. The project involved redesigning and restructuring their website to better support direct bookings, multilingual visitors, and long-term organic growth for both the hotel, the clinic and the wellness market they cater to.
Rather than a purely visual refresh, the focus was on building a flexible, scalable platform that could support marketing, promotions, and future content expansion.
The Challenge
Sole Mio’s previous website was limited in structure and content, making it difficult to clearly communicate the full breadth of the hotel and wellness offering. In parallel, management wanted the website to present a clean, sophisticated design that more accurately reflected the quality of both the hotel and the in-house clinic.
Key challenges included:
- Communicating accommodation, wellness, and clinical services with clarity and confidence
- Supporting multilingual audiences effectively
- Running targeted campaigns or promotions without workarounds
- Building long-term SEO value in a competitive travel market
The website needed to evolve from a basic brochure into a strategic marketing asset — one that combined refined presentation with flexibility, without becoming complex to manage day-to-day.
Our Approach
We approached the project as a strategy-led rebuild, not just a redesign.
Key priorities included:
- Designing a clear site architecture that could scale over time
- Separating core content (hotel and clinic) from flexible, campaign-driven content
- Building multilingual support directly into the design and layout process
- Optimising performance, SEO, and compliance from the ground up
Every technical and structural decision was made with long-term usability, maintainability, and growth in mind.
Key Solutions
- Scalable Site Architecture
Custom content structures were created for offers, events, attractions, and FAQs, allowing the team to update seasonal and promotional content without disrupting core pages.
- Multilingual-First Design
The site was designed and tested across English, Thai, and Russian, with layouts and typography chosen to handle language length differences gracefully. - Direct Booking Optimisation
Booking pathways were simplified and supported with dedicated content, improving clarity for guests and supporting direct reservations alongside OTAs. - SEO & Structured Content
The site was expanded significantly with search-friendly page structures, FAQs, and schema markup to improve visibility and long-term organic performance. - Performance & Reliability
Images, video, and assets were heavily optimised, resulting in a larger, more content-rich website with a smaller technical footprint. - Customer-Centric Choices
Every structural and design decision was guided by how guests search, scan, and make booking decisions. Pop-ups were used sparingly and only when initiated by visitors, ensuring key information and offers were presented without disrupting the browsing experience.
Outcome & Value
The final website provides Sole Mio with:
- A professional, multilingual platform that reflects the quality of the brand
- A structure designed to support ongoing marketing and promotions
- Significantly increased indexable content for SEO (from 50 pages to over 300)
- A site that is easier to manage, update, and grow over time.
Most importantly, the website is no longer a static brochure, but a flexible marketing foundation that can evolve with the business.
From Website to Marketing Platform
We partnered with the Sole Mio team to evolve their original website into a customer-focused, flexible marketing platform designed to support direct bookings, multilingual guests, and long-term growth.
Rather than treating the project as a simple redesign, we approached it as a strategic rebuild. The focus was on understanding how potential guests research, compare, and make decisions — and then structuring the website to remove friction at each stage of that journey.
This involved rethinking the site architecture, rewriting content for clarity and intent, and designing page layouts that balance inspiration with practical information. The result is a website that not only looks refined, but actively supports marketing campaigns, promotions, and ongoing content updates without requiring technical intervention.
Under the hood, the site was rebuilt on WordPress with performance, SEO, and multilingual support embedded from the outset. Russian and Thai languages were implemented as first-class experiences, not afterthoughts, with layouts and typography adapted to ensure consistency and readability across all languages.
Booking flows and conversion points were carefully considered throughout the site, ensuring that accommodation, clinic services, and offers are easy to understand and act upon, whether guests arrive organically or via advertising campaigns.
Throughout the project, the Sole Mio team were a pleasure to partner with, working collaboratively to shape a platform that reflects the quality of their offering and gives them the flexibility to manage and grow their website with confidence.

Rooms & Suites
What We Did
We restructured the accommodation section to clearly present each room type with detailed descriptions, large-format image galleries, guest reviews, and contextual links to relevant offers and promotions.
Each room page was designed to function as both an information hub and a conversion-focused landing page.
How We Did It
- Created dedicated room templates with consistent layout and hierarchy
- Used large gallery-style imagery to showcase rooms without overwhelming the page
- Integrated guest review content to build trust at the decision point
- Interlinked rooms with relevant offers and packages to support seasonal promotions
- Structured content to work equally well for direct visitors and OTA-driven traffic
Why It Matters
Accommodation pages are often where booking decisions are made. By combining visual storytelling, clear information, social proof, and relevant offers in one place, the site supports informed decisions while encouraging direct bookings.
The structure also allows rooms to be promoted independently in advertising campaigns without additional setup.

Sole Mio Clinic
What We Did
We developed a dedicated content structure for the in-house clinic that presents treatments and programs both as standalone services and as part of the broader hotel experience.
The clinic was positioned as a credible, professional operation in its own right, while remaining seamlessly integrated into the hotel website.
How We Did It
- Built a structured system for treatments and programs that can scale over time
- Designed content layouts that support medical-style clarity without feeling clinical
- Implemented custom schema markup to technically define clinic services and expertise
- Applied schema consistently across all three languages
- Ensured clinic content could be linked independently for search, referrals, and campaigns
Why It Matters
Wellness and clinical services rely heavily on trust and clarity. A robust content structure helps establish authority, improves search visibility, and allows the clinic’s expertise to grow organically over time.
The technical implementation ensures search engines clearly understand the clinic as a distinct service offering, supporting long-term credibility and discoverability.

Facilities & Hotel Services
What We Did
We expanded the facilities section into a series of focused, easy-to-navigate pages covering the hotel’s full range of services, including dining, pool, business facilities, fitness classes, gym, sauna, and ice rooms.
We also created an extensive local attractions section to help guests quickly understand what’s nearby and how to explore the area.
How We Did It
- Created individual pages for each key facility instead of grouping everything together
- Structured content so guests can quickly scan what’s available and when
- Designed layouts that work well across languages and device sizes
- Built a local attractions system highlighting nearby points of interest with clear directions and context
Note: As the hotel restaurant already operates with its own dedicated website, we focused primarily on breakfast services, which are most relevant to hotel guests and booking decisions.
Why It Matters
Breaking facilities into dedicated pages improves clarity, SEO visibility, and guest confidence. It allows guests to quickly see whether the hotel meets their needs without searching or guessing.
Local attractions content also adds value beyond the hotel itself, supporting longer stays and improving overall guest experience before arrival.

Offers, Promotions, Packages & Events
What We Did
We implemented a flexible offers and events system that allows the in-house team to create, update, and retire promotions without developer involvement.
This system supports both long-term packages and short-term, seasonal campaigns.
How We Did It
- Built custom content types for offers and events
- Designed layouts that can be reused across campaigns
- Enabled direct linking for advertising and email campaigns
- Ensured offers could be easily translated and updated in all languages
Why It Matters
Hotels rely on timely promotions, but rigid websites often make updates slow or risky. This system gives the team control while maintaining visual consistency and technical integrity.
It also allows marketing campaigns to link directly to relevant offers, improving clarity for guests and increasing conversion potential.
A considered, strategy-led build designed to support real business goals — not just launch day.
