High Quality Cards for a High Quality Business

SPOT UV Business Cards
Business Cards are one of my guilty pleasures, in an ever increasing digital world handing over a professional looking business card conveys a lot of unspoken information. Far more information than you could possibly print on a 90x55mm card.
The REMAX business cards came with a few restrictions beyond the usual brand identity guidelines for their logos and colours. The front of the cards (the contact info side) needed to follow a pre-determined layout and content structure for Phuket. However the back of the card and the card itself was open to design.
SPOT UV
Spot UV is a process of applying a gloss finish over a design to highlight key components. It’s often used in menus and car dealership brochures. But I like to use it on Business Cards too. It’s visually pleasing to look at but it also creates an additional tactile sensation that lends itself perfectly to business cards. Especially when paired with a satin or matt finish base.
DESIGN
With a lot of information on the front of the card already, it was important to keep the rear side clean and simple. But we did want to make a stronger connection with Phuket to represent the location of the REMAX Property Center and the type of high end properties they specialise in.
We achieved this by using the SPOT UV to print highly relevant keywords on the card. Because the spot uv is clear, holding the card at different angles affects the visibility of the text so it doesn’t distract from the clear branding of the company logo. But even before you see the clear text, you can feel it on your fingertips making an instant impression.
