Buathip eCommerce Website
Buathip Herbal Remedies Thai traditional herbal remedies that have been around for generations. Treating a variety of conditions like kidney and gallstones. Joint pain and arthritis to migraines and weight loss.
With distribution through retail outlets and fairs throughout Thailand. They already have an international customer base that spans many continents.
A bi-lingual (English & Thai) e-commerce website design for direct B2C online orders. Plus a platform offering discounts to agents to buy online from the same site at a discounted rate from 30% to 55%.
NOT a Multi Level Marketing (MLM) platform. All agents buy direct from Buathip using a system that better resembles a wholesale discount. Agents do not need to buy or hold any stock other than what is needed to fulfill their customers’ orders.
This was besides an eCommerce system that had to be a Mobile-friendly website design!
First, we tackled product photography. Consistency was important, so keeping the same angles and lighting helped when the product range when from 8 to 11. We also wanted to reuse our product shots in compositions (adding other elements without having to re-shoot).
All the images with ingredients and the collective group shot of the full product range are composts. Using product photography and individual photos of herbs. Because of the angles, we’d selected we are able to create life-like composites.
The product descriptions went through several revisions. As the primary source of information for each remedy, we wanted to explain how and why each remedy worked.
Discounts, Specials & Coupons
Only registered agents can see and access agent discounts, ranging from 30 and 55%. And only regular customers can access standard promotional offers, like the packages or BOGOF (buy one, get one free) promotions.
Normal store discounts and offers usually don’t factor in different offers for different users. To solve this we created a dynamic website design to manage and update promotions based on the user and their past purchases. It still used the same familiar online ordering process but provided the shop manager with unlimited promotional options.
Automated Email System
Besides the interactive web design, we also created shop email essentials, for order confirmations and payment receipts. We also created an automated email system for:
The automated emails each have many levels based on time since the last order, order quantity, and frequency. They also detect the recipient’s preferred language. Users receive either English or Thai emails for all their communications.
Social Media & Advertising
We also created a Facebook business profile and helped merge several pre-existing personal profiles into it.
To promote easy sharing on social media networks like Facebook. Unique custom social share graphics and descriptions we embedded on each page. in both English & Thai languages.
We added FB Pixel and Special Google eCommerce analytics to support and track both Facebook and Google advertising. Plus an @LINE account which we also connected to the onsite messaging.
Marketing Strategy
The current most active customers were introduced to Buathip by a friend or family member. So we wanted to capitalize on this and encourage it through our automated strategy.
Our sales funnel for the eCommerce website begins with an introductory offer. Either a first-sale discount or a friend and family referral. Free prize draw competition or special offer.
We also used Google Display and Search Ads and Facebook ads to boost brand awareness.
Buathip also offers some company-wide discounts (eg branches of the military). Ordering with your work email address would trigger a special discount.
As long as customers move through the online ordering system. The sales funnel and automated email campaigns will help build a loyal customer base.
Because creating a community around these products was important. We outlined a social media marketing calendar for competitions and promotions for regular customers. But also to highlight success stories of Sales Agents – with interviews and tips on how to succeed.
This was one of the most complex web projects we’d undertaken regarding functionality. Adding the Thai language to the mix made it even harder. Managing and promoting an eCommerce business takes a lot of time, hard work, and patience.
As long as Buathip keeps feeding the sales funnel, the automated process will reduce much of the heavy lifting. Allowing them to focus on building their brand community. We look forward to seeing them go from strength to strength.
